Hi Michelle, thanks for posting pictures, who are you and why are you posting these pictures?

I think these ideas are a bit expected for this world record. I would say that the scales should be tipped in his favor in the balance one. Maybe the scale is broken altogether, or the other people are way up in the air, I think it needs to be more extreme, or at least looked at from a different angle.

In the whale one the scale is pretty understandable as he is much closer to us and that would happen even if he was 3 feet tall, I wonder if it would make sense to put him behind the whale? Would it work if we saw more whale than fat man?

Give it some thought, send a revision in a color comp when you can.

I favor the swimming with the whale piece, the little heart in the whale's eye is a nice touch. The distraught look on his face creates a whole other story ... it might be fun if the man was synchronized swimming with the whale and they were looking at each other as if they had found true love, although either narrative is a little creepy. Fine tune the anatomy of his obese legs/feet, as they look grossly misshapen.

Michelle! I like the whale composition best. The perspective is great and the idea is easy to understand. I think it might be interesting to see the man swimming among the other whales like Lenny said. Looks great good luck~

Synchronized swimming seems like a cool idea, two gestures interacting. I like the idea of a big round guy doing one of those stretched extended curving dance poses. I remember those rubber beach hats, can't remember what you call them though. He needs a one piece swimsuit for sure.

Hey Michelle,
I like the whale one as well. Here's my big crit- I don't remember what your record is, and you didn't title your post or write anything about it...so I'm havin a little trouble. But besides not remembering, I like the comp of the whale one and think text could fit around it. nice perspective too. good luck!

looking a second time, was it the world heaviest person? Maybe I could've guessed...anyway I think its important to communicate the idea as an illustrator posting to blogs, even if its very obvious, because some oblivious people like me may not get it! Shutting up now. good luck!
